Cricut Wedding Favors Boxes

I love making stuff for weddings using my Cricut. I made this set of favors boxes than can be used for other parties as well.

People ask me why I make all this wedding stuff when I’m already married. Well, because it’s fun!

I really love flowers and lace and other super feminine design projects and it just all suits weddings so well. I figured I’d help all my DIY brides out there a little bit in the process.

In any case, this is a continuation of my rustic illustrations series of Cricut wedding designs. I made 3 designs that are all included for Free in my Resource Library.

Recommended Materials for Wedding Favors Boxes

Cardstock – In general, I recommend using non-textured paper with a colored core. It is a more intricate design and the textured paper tends to not cut as well and frays with the white core. My favorite is this Kraft set from Recollections. It fits the whole rustic thing well.

Assorted Starter Pack – Basic assorted colors, great starter pack, perfect weight for most papercraft projects
Cricut Joy Insert Card Packs – You don’t have to use these with the Cricut Joy, they are nice material kids for cardmaking.
Cardstock Warehouse Brand on Amazon – I love the quality of all the matte-colored cardstock with Cardstock Warehouse. It is my go-to brand for individual matte colors that I might need
Poptone Assorted Variety Pack – This is the perfect peppy assortment of colors of heavy cardstock. It’s a heavy cardstock assortment with colors I actually use frequently for cardmaking.
Seasonal Assorted Variety Pack – This is a slight variation on the Poptone assortment and has a quite few neutrals that complement almost any accent color.
Stardream Metallics Line – For paper crafts, the Stardream line is the go-to for a metallic shimmer finish. It is the perfect sheen to make any project pop. The core is also colored is which hard to find for metallic paper.

Glue – I use Tacky Glue.

Cutting Machine – I use a Cricut. Check out my recommendations for Cricut machines and accessories for beginners for more info.

Template – I’ve included mine for free in my resource library.

Tips for Making Cricut Wedding Favor Boxes

Step 1: Cut out the template. I recommend using the green mat. It is a more intricate design and needs the stickiness.

Step 2: Scoring the folds. I included a set of score lines in the template but I don’t use them myself mostly because I don’t have a scoring stylus. (who does?!) I just use my scraper (or credit card) and a ruler.

Step 3: Glue the box together. That’s it!
