3D Paper Tulip Template With Free Printables

Adding to my series on bouquet paper flower templates, I designed a pattern for tulips today.

It was actually quite simple, the assembly of the flower was much more complicated.

It’s not my favorite flower I’ve designed but it’s not bad. I think it looks better in a bunch rather than by itself.

Recommended Materials for Paper Tulip

Cardstock – I like to use medium weight cardstock with a colored core. It flexes easily and doesn’t have white frayed edges.

  • Assorted Starter Pack – Basic assorted colors, great starter pack, perfect weight for most papercraft projects
  • Cricut Joy Insert Card Packs – You don’t have to use these with the Cricut Joy, they are nice material kids for cardmaking.
  • Cardstock Warehouse Brand on Amazon – I love the quality of all the matte-colored cardstock with Cardstock Warehouse. It is my go-to brand for individual matte colors that I might need
  • Poptone Assorted Variety Pack – This is the perfect peppy assortment of colors of heavy cardstock. It’s a heavy cardstock assortment with colors I actually use frequently for cardmaking.
  • Seasonal Assorted Variety Pack – This is a slight variation on the Poptone assortment and has a quite few neutrals that complement almost any accent color.
  • Stardream Metallics Line – For paper crafts, the Stardream line is the go-to for a metallic shimmer finish. It is the perfect sheen to make any project pop. The core is also colored is which hard to find for metallic paper.

Glue – I use Tacky Glue but I think in retrospect a glue gun would have been better.

Cutting Machine – I use a Cricut. Check out my recommendations for Cricut machines and accessories for beginners for more info.

    Tips for Making Paper Tulips

    Step 1: Cut all the pieces

    Step 2: Curl the petals. I like to do one big curl inwards and then curl just the tip outwards.

    Step 3: Cup the petals together and glue where the petals meet from the inside.

    Step 4: Roll the stamen piece and glue to the base.

    There are plenty of DIY paper flower crafts you can make with your 3D printable tulip template. For example, you can make lovely paper tulip cards for Mother’s Day. These 3D flowers are also great to make centerpieces for weddings, parties, and holiday celebrations. Of course, you can also use these to welcome spring and Easter as well.

    We love creating paper crafts at domestic heights. It is such a fun and easy way to engage your kids in productive activities. Kids love to create crafts from paper. And today, we are going to make some DIY paper tulips that you can try at home with your kids. It would make a great Mother’s Day gift to be given on Mother’s Day and would generally lighten up your kids’ room as well. You can create different colors of tulips and bind them together to make a beautiful bouquet.

    Although I did not make leaves to be attached to the tulips, I think in retrospect, it would have enhanced the beauty of the tulips if I had added green leaves at the base. You can use different green crepe paper shades for this purpose, as crepe paper would give a realistic look.

    And voila! We are done! Are not these the most beautiful DIY Paper tulips! You can make different colors of tulips. These would make a great Mother’s Day or teacher appreciation gift, or you could simply decorate your kids’ room with them. Moreover, you can add a little shade on the tulips’ edges to give them a more artistic look. Just dip your brush in a darker shade of the tulip color and make thin lines on the outer sides of the tulip.
