I love making these laser cut designs and thought it would work well as wedding table numbers.
I made my set using heavier cardstock but this works great in vinyl on an empty frame.
Or if you want to get really fancy, you can create a vinyl template and etch the template onto glass.
But if you are interested in making these using cardstock, I have a few pointers.
Recommended Materials for Cricut Table Numbers
Cardstock – I find the shimmer heavy cardstock to be the best for this because of the aesthetic but also the weight of the paper and finish tends to not catch on the mat after it has been cut. This is a subtle detail but it makes a difference. Here are some of my favorite brands:
- Assorted Starter Pack – Basic assorted colors, great starter pack, perfect weight for most papercraft projects
- Cricut Joy Insert Card Packs – You don’t have to use these with the Cricut Joy, they are nice material kids for cardmaking.
- Cardstock Warehouse Brand on Amazon – I love the quality of all the matte-colored cardstock with Cardstock Warehouse. It is my go-to brand for individual matte colors that I might need
- Poptone Assorted Variety Pack – This is the perfect peppy assortment of colors of heavy cardstock. It’s a heavy cardstock assortment with colors I actually use frequently for cardmaking.
- Seasonal Assorted Variety Pack – This is a slight variation on the Poptone assortment and has a quite few neutrals that complement almost any accent color.
- Stardream Metallics Line – For paper crafts, the Stardream line is the go-to for a metallic shimmer finish. It is the perfect sheen to make any project pop. The core is also colored is which hard to find for metallic paper.
Card Holders – You can easily turn these into free-standing table numbers buy making 3 of them and then attaching them to make a 3D triangle.
If you prefer just a table number, here’s a couple of cute ones:
Cutting Machine – I use a Cricut. Check out my recommendations for Cricut machines and accessories for beginners for more info.

Additional Tips for Cutting Cricut Table Numbers
Use a fresh mat if possible – I know it get pricey but I have found the best combination is to use a fresh light grip mat. If that is not possible, then the standard grip mat also works but you really need heavy cardstock so it holds its shape coming off the mat.
Tweezers are your friend – I also like to use tweezers to gently pick off the design. I peel back the mat on the bottom edge and then start lifting the rest with the tweezers.
Lint Rollers are also your friends – This template isn’t that bad but it still helps to get a lint roller or some masking tape and picking up the scraps with it first.
Scraping the remainder pieces – This is where the heavier cardstock really saves you. I sort of just use pointed tweezers and flick off the small pieces. I’ve also designed my template as to minimize the really small pieces.
Use More Pressure – Keep in mind the default Medium Cardstock cut setting is for 80lb paper. If you are using 92lb paper, make sure you add a little more pressure to get a clean cut.
How to use the blank template for additional wedding table numbers
If you are having a bigger wedding or prefer a different font for the numbers, I’ve included a blank template.
To make use of this blank template, first upload the set to design space.
Delete all the numbered ones except for the blank sheet. Make a bunch of duplicates of the blank template.
Type your numbers out and ungroup them. Align each number to each blank template and weld the two pieces together.
A few other ideas for Wedding Table Numbers using this template
Vinyl Decal on Acrylic – This table number template works wonderfully as a vinyl decal on an acrylic stand. I love using metallic gold or silver vinyl for lacy patterns like this.
Framed Sign – You use a classic frame or go for one of these double sided frames and sandwich a sheet of paper to contrast with the decal in between. Again, I love the idea of metallic vinyl. It really adds a nice elegant accent to the centerpiece.
Rustic Lantern – Turn your table number into a centerpiece and decorate a rustic lantern with this template. The glow of the candle light will be super pretty through the lace. Just use a vinyl decal that suits the color scheme of your wedding.
