What to put in a DIY Hot Chocolate Gift Set

The holidays are the perfect time to gift your loved ones with something special! Making it yourself adds an extra touch of thoughtfulness anyone can appreciate.

It’s easy and simple to do, you just need a couple of ingredients and a little love. Here are a few ideas you can use to create a magical Christmas hot cocoa gift basket:

The list doesn’t stop there! You can add scarves, mittens and other clothing items if you live somewhere cold. Bonus points if they’re knitted from you!

Add in some fun crafts if the hot cocoa gift baskets are for children, like snowman popsicles or homemade “reindeer food” for them to sprinkle out when Santa stops for his visit!

Gourmet hot chocolate gift set

Homemade hot chocolate gift baskets are perfect for any occasion and a great way to add personalized touches to make your friends feel special.

To step it up a notch for a birthday, baby shower, a big promotion, or just to say “I’m thinking of you”, there are many gourmet hot chocolate gift sets to choose from as well.

Here are a couple of items you can throw in to make a yummy cup of hot cocoa and a happy friend:

Individual hot chocolate gifts

I love making these hot chocolate individual packet gift cards. They are so easy to make and really add that personal touch. You can accessorize it with all sorts of different decorations and stuff more fun topping into the sleeve as well.

This hot cocoa gift card template is available for free in both SVG and printable PDF formats in my resource library.

Mason Jar Hot Chocolate Gift Ideas

Celebrating a housewarming party and stuck on what to get? You can’t go wrong with a DIY hot cocoa gift that doubles as decor.

I love adding a paper flower to various packages and jars and gifting the item as a decorative piece as well. Check out my paper poinsettia tutorial (with free tutorial) to make this holiday festive hot chocolate mason jar treat.

You don’t even have to make your own hot cocoa mix! I just buy a big canister of it and fill small mason jars with the mix and then add some appropriate toppings like marshmallows and chocolate chips (I love these Andes mint chocolate chips if you want to step it up a notch!). You can also do this with a decorative mug (you’ll need it to drink all that hot chocolatey goodness).

BONUS: Candles would also be a perfect additive to this housewarming hot cocoa gift basket.

Individual Hot Chocolate Gift Packet Ideas For Kids

Surprise your kids and their friends at their next sleepover with these hot cocoa gift baskets! Turn an ordinary movie night into something more fun!

I love the individual hot chocolate packets but my kids love the hot chocolate stir sticks. You can get a pack of these on Amazon as well to gift in bulk! Add them to a card (see my snowman crafts for more inspiration) for add a DIY gift tag for more handmade fun.

Hot chocolate gift baskets make ordinary gifts look boring. Creating something from the heart adds a special touch and can put a smile on anyone’s face!
