These Cosmos felt flowers are the perfect accessory for any home decor project or simply as a hair accessory.
I like easy craft projects because crafting is fun. Once in a while, I do like to challenge myself with something new but I have to be in the right mood for that.
These cosmos, on the other hand, are super versatile and anyone can figure it out.

Materials for DIY Felt Cosmos
Felt – If you are cutting these on your cutting machine and don’t have a rotary blade, I highly recommend using a stiffer felt like this assorted set made by Arteza.
Glue – I’m not a huge fan of needle and thread unless I have to. I like to just use a hot glue gun for this project.
Cutting Machine – I use a Cricut. Check out my recommendations for Cricut machines and accessories for beginners for more info.
Template – This felt cosmos template is available for free in both SVG and printable PDF formats in my resource library.
How to assemble a felt Cosmos flower
Step 1: Cut out all the pieces from the template
I like to use my rotary blade with my Cricut Maker for felt. If you only have an Explorer, consider adding a reinforcing layer of transfer tape so the blade doesn’t snag as much on the felt.
Step 2: Glue the petal strip tabs
A tiny dot of glue will do. Then, glue both layers on top of each other with the petals offset.
Step 3: Rolled the fringe center and glue in place
No need to glue all along the base, you will do that in the next step.
Step 4: Stuff the rolled fringe in the layer petals circles
Add a generous amount of glue in the base to secure everything in place.
