There are so many great DIY birthday banner ideas that you can make right at home.
From planning parties in the past, I understand how quickly decoration expenses can add up. Between table cloths, balloons, cake toppers, and party games, you can quickly go over your party budget.
By making your birthday banner at home, you can save money on your birthday decor. Plus, your guests will be so impressed when they find out you made these from scratch!
Whether you’re looking for a printable birthday banner or a template you can cut with your Cricut, there are plenty of different of options to get started making these fun birthday party decorations. In this post, I’ll go through several different DIY birthday banners ideas. I’ll also provide a free Cricut birthday banner SVG for download.
LEGO Birthday Banner
First, you can make a DIY LEGO birthday banner to decorate for your kid’s party. To get started, you can sign up for my newsletter. Then, you’ll be able to access these block, figure, and text templates. They are compatible with Cricut, Silhouette, and many other cutting machines. This way, you can print them out easily.
For this banner, I usually try to stick with a simple blue, red, yellow, and green color scheme to capture the LEGO party theme. You can also use other DIY LEGO party ideas to decorate for the event. For example, 3D paper bricks are perfect to decorate your dessert table!
Printable Birthday Banner
Next, you can also make this DIY printable birthday banner for free using my banner SVGs. I love using the flag templates for how versatile they are.
For example, you can print the flags larger to make a DIY bunting banner over a doorway or hanging in front of the dessert table. With this option, you just need to increase the scale of the templates before you print them with your Cricut cutting machine or whichever print device you have.
On the other hand, you can also use this free printable banner template for fun birthday cake topper ideas. To make cake decoration, you can print the templates. Then, attach them to ribbon, string, or twine. Alternatively, if you’re using thicker cardstock, you can punch holes on both sides of each flag. Then, weave the string through.
Remember to keep in mind the size of your cake when you space your letters! This way, you can make sure everyone can see your happy birthday message.
Unicorn Birthday Banner
In addition, a unicorn birthday banner is the perfect decoration for any child’s unicorn-themed birthday party. Like the happy birthday cake topper, I also used a flag pattern to make a DIY bunting banner. This made it much easier to string ribbon through and hang up.
Since my daughter loves unicorns, this was the perfect way to decorate for her outdoor birthday party. I also created a whole Cricut unicorn birthday party kit for anyone planning a unicorn-themed party.
To make the unicorns stand out more, I decided to use an aqua cardstock accent color for the background. Of course, you can use whichever colors best suit your birthday bash.
If you’re looking for an additional wall or table decoration, you can also make DIY unicorn garland to match this fun unicorn banner! For this, I just print and cut a few simple templates with my Cricut and string them together, like I’m making another banner.
Superhero Birthday Banner
Next, I also made this superhero birthday banner. This is great for kids DC or Avenger birthday parties. I kept the lettering simple, so it can be used for any superhero-themed party. At the ends of the banner, I also added superhero mask templates to match the goodie bags I was using. You can always customize the colors to match your child’s favorite superhero as well!
